Bambalov, N.N. | Belen'kaya, T.Ya.
Carbohydrates content and composition are shown to depend in peaty soils on the kind of peat and not on agricultural practices intensity and duration. The highest carbohydrates content is proper to soil originated from moss and sedge peats, while the lowest one was observed in soils derived of woody and reed peats. Easily hydrolyzable carbohydrates content in peaty soils is 3 - 10 times higher than that of hardly hydrolyzable ones
