The article presents the characteristics of milk yields in lactation on six farms in Trebnje community, all six included in production control, with monthly data processing (AP control). In 1991, there were 9 to 22 cows in separate herds, with the highest standard lactation average 6237 kg milk, and the lowest 4085 kg. Satisfactory lactation curves are reached in two herds, with average milk yield above 6000 kg. In other herds, the top of the curve was not pronounced, and a constant decrease in daily milk yield was noticed. The improvement of milk production from 1989 to 1991 was in average 815 kg per cow, with 0,18 % increased milk fat. Further improvement will be achieved by management, based on AP control data, and by cooperation between the advisory services and the farmers
