The soil denudation (wind blow-off) values and protective effect of some crops against wind erosion in South-Western Slovakia were calculated on the basis of wind recording (wind speed and wind duration) in 5 meteorologic stations. Also, the soil proportion blown off by the wind under 2 different soil surface conditions (dry and wet) and the protective ability of different crops against wind erosion during the vegetation period were calculated. The results show that soil's best protectors were fodder crops cultivated on arable land, then winter and spring crops. Root crops indicated a poor ability to protect farmland against wind erosion.
