Effect of irrigation on pollutant contents in irrigated crops

The results of the tests and notes from scientific literature point out possibilities of using irrigation in growing harmless products. Irrigation plays an important part in lowering nitrates content in potatoes and vegetables. It needs to be taken into account that right after irrigation the content of nitrate is usually higher, than gradually becomes lower, even lower without irrigation. By watching the influence of irrigation on the content of heavy metals (Cd, Pb, Hg) in products we can not draw exact conclusions in the case of Cd and Pb. This topic is very demanding if we take into account the great influence of outside factors in the intake of heavy metals by plants.
