Blood serum mineral profile was studied in 1,500 dairy cows from Nong-Po, Ratchaburi province. The blood samples were divided into 5 age groups: less than 1 year, 1-2 years, 3-5 years, 6-8 years and more than 9 years. The levels of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and copper were in close agreement with those reported for normal ranges in the literatures. The iron level was comparatively high. The level of manganese was relatively low in 9-9 years group. The Ca : P ratio ranged from 1.64 : 1 to 1.80 : 1 in all age-groups. There were no significant differences in the mineral contents of the serum during the early stage and second stage of gestation in all age-groups except manganese. The manganese content was lower in the second stage of gestation than in the early stage of gestation in 9-9 years group. Further studies with tissue mineral analysis, particularly iron and manganese are recommended on dairy cows.
