Study on the rates of nitrogen and phosphate fertilizer for rice production on limed acid sulfate soil, Maha Phot series, had been investigated on the farmer's field at Tambol Bangplung, Amphur Bansang, Changwat Prachin Buri during 1982-1984. Nitrogen fertilizer was the main factor for increasing rice yield while phosphate fertilizer gave slight response. Nitrogen fertilizer at the rates of 4, 8 and 12 kg. of N per rai could give 16, 26 and 31 % of increasing the average yield. The application of nitrogen fertilizer at 12 kg. N per rai without phosphate fertilizer was the optimal rate of the highest economic return
