Fruit plants may be propagated directly from seeds or vegetatively. Although seed propagation of fruit plants is the easiest, generally it is not the best, because it scarcely allows for maintenance of the characters of the original plant. In addition, plants grown directly from seeds are slow to come into production. Vegetative propagation allows for the multiplication of quick bearing plants in conformity with the original mother plant. Describes the techniques used in nursery preparation and methods of plant propagation by seeds and vegetatively.
