Some notes on pests of rice in Trinidad

The pests have been divided according to the type of damage done to rice as follows: stemborers; leaf feeders and stem and root feeders. The stemborers mentioned are Diatraea saccharalis and Rupela albinella. The leaf feeders (stem and leaf feeders) are Conocephalus sp., Aeneolamia varia Saccharina, Sogatodes orizicola, Tibraca limbatiiventris, Oebalus sp., Nezara viridula, Augacoris gomesii, Spodoptera frugiperda, Mocis latipes and Hydrellia sp. The stem and root feeders are Scapteriscus didactylus and Neocurtilla hexadactyla and Chironomids.
