Ten wheat populations in initial generations of mass selection were estimated by calculating mean values of recombinant genotypes developed as a result of dominant genes effects. The value of these recombinations depends on the grain yield of the hybrid populations, the value of the middle parent and the relations of frequencies of the genotypes which contribute. The value of such recombinations is used as a basic criterion in order to determine the importance of hybrid populations in selection. Based on the results, new superior wheat lines in F6 generations could be expected, from wheat hybrid populations Beogradjanka x Skopljanka, Beogradjanka x Zitarka, Skopljanka x Agrounija and Zitarka x Zemunka.
