The results of the study of new potato assortment

Production traits of 15 potato varieties, grown on calcareous chernozem soil, and on a black meadow soil, were studied. The number of tubers per plant was 5.6 and their average mass was 61.7 g. The variety Red Pontiac formed the lowest number of tubers (4 tubers per plant) of average mass of 94.5 g, while the Yugoslav variety Univerzal gave the highest number of tubers (6.9 tubers per plant) of average mass of 46.1 g. Location significantly affected the number of formed tubers, average mass and yield. The lowest yield of 13.07 t/ha was obtained with the variety Desiree. Significantly higher yields were obtained with the varieties Premier (20.41 t/ha), Sante (19.24 t/ha), Fresko and Red Pontiac (19.4 t/ha), Binela (18.61 t/ha), Agria (18.27 t/ha).
