In the 1986-1988 period varietal microtrial with the 110, 198 and 239 clones of the Rhine Riesling variety were carried out in the Negotin and Smederevo regions (Serbia, Yugoslavia). Following data processing it was established that grape yields are highly significantly influenced by all three factors, as well as by the trial locality x variety interaction, whereas no greater variations between trial localities, trial years and varieties pertaining to sugar and total acids content were observed. Based on the aforecited data it may be concluded that the Rhine Riesling clone 239 provided the best results according to all investigated traits in the trial localities of Smederevo and Negotin, and that, therefore, it should be given priority over the 198 and 110 clones under the same growing conditions.
