Effect of artificial conifer-harwood forest on physical and chemical characteristics of chernozem

This paper concerns water situation, soil constitution pH value, organic matter content and humic composition of chernozem under different artificial forest. The results show the soil under conifer forest is dry due to strong transpiration in spring, and soil water is abundant under deciduous forest; pH value of soil reduces under conifer forest, particularly evergreen conifer forest and PH value tends to become neutral under deciduous forest; after 30 years old of reforestation, the organic matter content of surface soil increases
