White clover in the Czech Republic (CR): current state of growing and protection against pests, diseases and weeds
1995
Tesar, O. (Troubsko Research Institute for Fodder Plants, Brno (Czech Republic))
The aim of the research was the finding of possibilities of effective herbicidal regulation of weeds in emerging as well established white clover stands. The following methods were used: field small plot trials during 1984-1991; using hand or back carried plot sprayer for the application of herbicides; the estimation of herbicidal efficacy and phytotoxicity to white clover using the international 9-point scale EWRC, where 1=100 per cent efficacy against weeds, no phytotoxicity to the crop, 9=0 per cent efficacy against weeds, 100 per cent phytotoxicity to the crop. It can be summarized, that the succesful herbicidal regulation of a variety of common, especially annual, weeds in white clover stands is possible. Some herbicide using specifications are as follows: Balan LC, Lentagran 450 WP, Basagran, Pivot 100 LC
