Studies on the behaviour and side-effects of different herbicides in the soil environment
1995
Kavoliunaite, I. | Janushiene, V. (Lithuanian Inst. of Agriculture, Kaunas (Lithuania))
Field experiments were carried out in 1979-1993 on a podzolic sandy loam soil (pH 5.8, humus 2.04 per cent) in the crop rotation (winter rye, potatoes, maize, barley, undersowing barley and one year grass ley). The intensity of herbicides application (2,4-D - butyl ester, 2,4-D amine salt, mecocrop, MCPA, MCPB, bentazone, simazine, propazine, prometryne, sitrin (simazine plus prometryne), linuron, TCA) was different. Factor A - herbicides were applied in all crops, B - in four, C - in three and D - in two crops. It was found that over two rotation the accumulation, time of persistence and intensity of degradation of every herbicide in soil depended on its own characteristics and meteorological conditions and there was no clear dependence on the presence of other herbicides
