The nutrient content, effect of microbial and chemical additives to mudpress-chicken manure composts were evaluated. NPK analysis indicate the potential of mudpress-chicken manure compost as fertilizer source. To improve its effectiveness, it is recommended that it should be composted first before application. Composting also reduced the number of coliform/Salmonella counts that were initially present in the substrates. Inoculation resulted in increased microbial load to beneficial microorganisms and increased nutrient contents. Chemical fertilizer supplementation at 10 percent resulted to inhibition in nitrogen fixers population and sometimes an increase in pathogenic bacterial count. It was also observed that yield increases were high in treatments using combinations of inocula and 5 percent NPK supplementation. This improvement in yield is attributed to the presence of both readily available and slow release nitrogen. Generally, it is also better to inoculate composts before storing, as this results in a higher quality compost after one month storage. More detailed and longer studies should, however, be conducted for the initial data to be more conclusive. A comparison of the methods/parameters used to monitor the composting process and the finished product also showed some significant relationship between (1) moisture content and pH and sampling time; (2) moisture content and total bacterial and nitrogen fixers population; and (3) nitrogen and phosphorus content. These correlations are valuable in looking for alternative parameters that are easy to measure and at the same time accurate to get a glimpse of the composting process and the possible quality of the product
