1994
Marwat, K.B. | Shaheen, N. | Rahman, H. (NWFP Agricultural Univ., Peshawar (Pakistan). Dept. of Plant Breeding and Genetics)
Experiment was conducted using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) having three replications and 15 combinations (treatments) during 1992 at Agricultural Research Station, Mingora to compare the performance of F1 with their parents and to estimate heritability. Kashmiri Basmati x Toro-2 showed notable increase in plant height. It also showed increase in plant weight and panicle length. Decrease in grain weight and increase in % sterility were the characters for which several hybrids produced highly significant values. Heritability was highest for percent sterility followed by maturity and number of tillers per plant.
