Efficacy of different biopesticides containing Bacillus thuringiensis in control of Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata Say) on potato plants

Field and laboratory experiments have been conducted in 1990-93 with biopesticides: M-Trak, IS 009, Novodor and Bitoksybacillin. All tested pesticides were very effective against the youngest stages (L1-L2) of Colorado potato beetle. Biopesticides were less effective against oldest larval stages (L3-L4) and adults. The best results were obtained with biopesticides which were genetically improved - M-Trak and IS 009. The highest mortality of young larvae was obtained in the case of using pyrethroid insecticide - Karate 0,25 EC. Karate was also better in the case of older larval stages and adults
