Final report of the twentieth international irrigated rice observational nursery (20th IIRON, 1993)

One hundred twenty four (124) entries were evaluated in 45 testing sites in 18 countries. Most promising were: BG1222, CNTLR80076-44-1-1-1, IR50363-61-1-2-2, IR52350-81-3-1-2, IR53386-100-3-2-2, IR53912-98-1-2-2, IR56450-28-2-2, PNA1010-F4-23-2-1, and PR23388-93. Results and key observations like seedling vigor, days to 50% flowering, spikelet fertility, plant height, and grain amylose content are discussed. Best entries based on maturity, regional performance, and resistance to biotic stresses are likewise covered. IIRON entries recently utilized in the rice breeding programs of cooperating countries are also cited
