Improvement of the exploiting technologies of cultivated pastures in Jijia depression

During 1988-1991, 6 mixtures of graminaceae and perennial leguminous plants were tested in different systems of usage at SCPCO Popauti. The experiment revealed the importance of the mixture made up of Festuca arundinacea 70 per cent + Trifolium repens 10 per cent + Lotus corniculatus 20 per cent (6825 kg/ha dry matter), followed by the mixture of Bromus inermis 40 per cent + Onobrichis viciifolia 60 per cent (6.101 kg/ha dry matter). The exclusive use as hayfield and the use as hayfield+pasture give productions close to 6.040 and 6.352 kg/ha dry matter.
