Study of chlorophyllian pigments in several mulberry varieties

The content of chlorophyll a and b, of total chlorophyll and of carotenoids, was studied in several mulberry varieties (Morus sp.) The content of chlorophyll a, varies between 100-125,4 mg, of chlorophyll b between 35,8-41,6 mg percent and the content of total chlorophyll varies between 135,7-167,1 mg percent. The highest values were found in the varieties Ken-Mochi (Morus bombycis), China 2, China and (Morus multicaulis) and in Wasemidosi (Morus latifolia). As concerns the content of carotenoids higher values were noticed in the varieties China 7, China 2, Ukrain 9 (Morus alba) and Wasemidori (Morus latifolia).
