Our earlier analyses (1987) have shown a high content of arginine in pollen of Larix decidua collected from one individual. By considering the arithmetic mean of the total content of amino acids obtained from 20 samples - 195.12 mg.g** (-1) and of the arginine content in these samples - 75.06 mg.g** (-1), it can be stated that arginine accounts for approximately 38 % of the total content of amino acids of the non-vital pollen of Larix decidua. Based on our earlier as well as the above-given data it can be assumed that the data about the total content of both the amino acids and the arginine (or some other amino acids) in the pollen of Larix decidua, though referring to only one individual, may be utilized as taxonomic markers at the species level.
