Garlic sheller machine found in the market comprises big size and is rather expensive which may not be suitable for local farmers whose investments are limited. For these reasons, the small and cheap garlic sheller machines to replace labour are researched and developed. By the friction between the garlic and rubber during rubbing, the garlic bulbs can be shelled into garlic pieces. Garlic pieces are more demanded in the local market since they can be transformed further into compound of food and other products such as sauces in canned food industry, garlic in capsules, compound in meals, etc. Suitable distance between two plates of rubber and velocity of rotation of the plate of rubber will give garlic pieces with good quality of 75 % and capacity of production of 45 kgs/hr. Suitable velocity of rotation is 200 rpm and suitable distance between plates of rubber is 0.75 cm. Efficiency of the machine is about 80 %.
