Adsorption, desorption, mobility and efficacy of s-triazines as influenced by soil properties
1991
Ronnayoot Sattayanikom
Rates of atrazine, ametryn and dimethametryn required to produce 80 % weed control at 8 and 12 weeks after application were almost the same. However simazine required higher rates than other s-triazine. The average rates of all herbicides required for 80 % weed control across soil were in the order Kamphaengsaen (clay) Kamphaengsaen (silty loam) Nampong (sand) at 8 and 12 weeks after application. Greenhouse experiments were conducted in 1991. The average rates of atrazine and ametryn were almost the same but dimethametryn was highest. While the average rate of simazine was lowest. The rates of s-triazine required to produce 80 % weed control in different soil series were similar to field experiments. However the average rates of dimethametryn required for 80 % grassy weed control were significantly correlated with CEC value only.
