Endosulfan was the most effective insecticide and gave the highest seed yield both in the wet and dry seasons followed by Cyphate and monocrotophos, respectively, while carbosulfan was not effective and gave the lowest seed yields. Laboratory toxicity test by topical application, endosulfan was the most toxic insecticide to the second instar larvae of American bollworm with an LC50 of 609.56 ppm followed by Cyphate with an LC50 of 1,785.93 ppm, monocrotophos with and LC50 of 8,035.59 ppm and carbosulfan with an LC50 of 8,237.37 ppm, respectively. Amount of residues found in the wet season was lower than that found in the dry season.
