In the rubber plantation, the most frequently-encountered amphibian species were Phrynoglossus martensi and Microhyla ornata, whereas other 4, Rana nigrovittata, Rhacophorus leucomystax, Microhylaheymonsi and Micryletta inornata, showing quite irregular appearances. Among the reptiles, the most frequently-encountered ones were Mabuya macularia, Cosymbotus platyurus, Phyllodactylus siamensis, Calotes versicolor, Lygosoma bowringi, Hemidactylus frenatus and Draco maculatus. Concerning the orchard which was considered quite unsuitable for amphibians, because only 2 species, Microhyla ornata and Micryletta inornata, were observed, but opposely it seemed to favour the living of local reptiles, because Mabuya macularia and Calotes versicolor were found all the year round. For the natural forest, 3 amphibian species, Phrynoglossus martensi, Rhacophorus leucomystax and Microhyla heymonsi, were frequently seen within it. The observed occurrence of each herpetofaunal species varied widely according to species, some in all land use types, while some only confined to one particular type. Among those found in all 3 land use types were Microhyla ornata and Micryletta inornata for amphibians and Phyllodactylus siamensis, Cosymbotus platyurus, Lygosoma bowringi, Sphenomorphus maculatus, Mabuya macularia and M. multifasciata for reptiles. The climatic condition was found strongly affecting the amphibian accurrence in the study area; during the drought when there was no rainfall with high air temperature and somewhat low relative humidity, very few amphibians were seen on the ground.
