Contribution to the investigations of microbial populations for differently dried camomile flowers
1993
Mandic, B. ("Menta", Padej (Yugoslavia)) | Vrbaski, Lj. | Markov, S.
It was found that due to small content of moisture and high swelling capability, procedure for dilutes preparation for microbiological investigations of dried camomile flowers has to be modified up to the initial dilution of 1:25. Colony forming units proved to be effected by the drying procedure, whereas in the case of controlled drying conditions average decrease of CFU was up to ten times than in the case of camomile flos from random. The presence of microaerophilic bacteria has been also registered. Their presence effected and aggrevated quantitative determinations. The share of aerobic spore-forming bacteria 6.0 within the samples dried under controlled conditions, while the samples from random indicated three times higher share. Cocci and Gram-positive rods percentage presence proved to be markedly dominant.
