Micropropagation of saffron (Crocus sativus) by microcorm regeneration

In the present paper, some preliminar results on saffron micrpropagation are presented. Two approaches have been tested simultaneously: direct corm regeneration by the culture of dormant meristems and the development of a nodular cormogenic callus line able to differentiate viable protocorms. In both cases plants have been regenerated in vitro.
