Effect of plant growth regulator on growth and yield of irrigated rice

The experiment was conducted on farmers field, Pauh V Padang in wet season 1990/1991. The treatments, seven plant growth regulators and control were arranged in Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. The result showed that plant growth regulator had significant effect on number of seeds per panicle, 1000 dry seeds weight, oven dried straw and yield. There were no significant difference on plant height, maximum tiller, number of panicle per hill, and percentage of filled grain. Some growth regulators tended to increase the grain yield about 2.1-7.4 percent
