Locally designed yellow sticky traps on the sweetpotato whitefly Bemisia tabaci and the incidence of the tomato yellow leaf curl virus in plastic houses

Three separate experiments were conducted in the plastic houses to investigate the effect of the locally designed yellow sticky traps on the population of Bemisia tabaci and the incidence of tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV). Results have showed that traps were very effective in reducing whitefly population and the incidence of (TYLCV). This treatment provided high protection for tomato plants, yield increase was about 140 for the three seasons combined.
