Field experiments were conducted at three sites (Yampa Phant, 450m asl; Arghaun, 850m asl; and Rishing Patan, 430m asl) initiated 1995/96 to determine the optimum dose of organic and inorganic fertilizers for yield of wheat in irrigated condition. Application of 90:60:30 kg/ha gave significantly large wheat grain yield of 3.69 t/ha at Yampa Phant, 2.40 t/ha at Arghaun and 2.76 t/ha at Rishing Patan as compared to other organic and inorganic fertilizer treatments. Combined analysis of wheat grain from three sites showed that application of chemical fertilizers at the rate of 90:60:30 kg/ha produced higher grain yield of 2.92 t/ha than that of 10 t FYM/compost per ha. However, the grain yield of control (without fertilizers) was significantly low (1.26 t/ha) as compared with organic and inorganic fertilizers.
