This study aimed at identifying the most effective strains and dilution rates of three strains of Beauveria basiana to control sweetpotato weevil. The three strains were collected from IRRI [International Rice Research Inst., Los Banos, Laguna, Philippines], CIP [International Potato Center, Los Banos, Laguna, Philippines], and Bubon. Five spore concentrations by serial dilutions were 10 to the eighth power, 10 to the seventh power, 10 to the sixth power, 10 to the fifth power, and 10 to the fourth power. The experimental unit in the laboratory assay was a three g fresh sweetpotato chip dipped in inoculum with seven adult weevils in a petri dish. The design was completely randomized with four replications. Mortality was recorded after a week. The strain from Bubon was the most effective in controlling adult sweetpotato weevil; it was followed by the IRRI and CIP strains. The spore dilutions of 10 to the eighth power and 10 to the seventh power had the highest mortality followed by the lesser concentrations. Mortality was not observed in the control
