Sweetpotato varieties UPLSP-2 and Binicol were tested in Maloma and Balincaguing alone or in combination with mycorrhiza and/or inorganic fertilizer. Growth and yield of the two varieties were better in Maloma than in Balincaguing. Regardless of the biofertilizer treatment, the storage root yield of UPLSP-2 was more than three times that of Binicol in Maloma. Generally, Azospirillum inoculation alone caused increased in storage root yield in UPLSP-2 and Binicol in Maloma, while yields in Balincaguing increased when Azospirillum was applied together with inorganic fertilizer. Inoculation caused yield increases equal to or greater than that due to application of 14 kg N/ha
