The experiment was conducted from 1985 to 1992 in factorial design with phosphorus, varieties, sites, and seasons as treatments. A multiple factorial analysis of variance was conducted from the mean yield across sites with the following as sources of variation: season, phosphorus, and variety. The results showed highly significant effects of years, season, treatment and varieties. There were no significant interactions between the factors. The highest mean yield was obtained from the dry season, with P addition and with a resistant variety. Soil chemical properties was also analyzed. The analysis showed that continuous cropping caused depletion of total P and available P content of the soil
