Nitrate content in potato tubers as affected by planting and nitrogen fertilization techniques

Effect of increasing nitrogen rates applied locally by use of technological paths and different planting density on total N and nitrate concentration in potato tubers of Lawina cv. was studied in field experiment within 1993-95. Locally applied N fertilization increased total N and nitrate concentration in tubers, however did not affect the percentage on nitrates in total nitrogen. Using technological paths significantly rose the total N content but no effect on nitrate concentration in tubers was observed
