In 1992-94 the effect of seed dressing (with Super Homai 50 WP, Sibutol DS, Trifmine T and Funaben T) and seed conditioning (increasing of seed water content from about 10 to 20%) of field pea cv. Gniewko on field emergence, development and seed yield was evaluated. Seed conditioning increased field emergence by 4% and seed yield by 3.2%. The effect of seed dressing was 4.1 and 1.3% respectively. Sibutol had the most beneficial effect on field emergence of air dry seeds, and Super Homai and Funaben of conditioned ones. The small effect of seed conditioning on plant emergence and yielding of pea gave no case to practical use of this seed treatment
