The influence of body quality allotted during pregnancy and body weight at mating on the productive performances was investigated on a total number of 200 gilts belonging to LW, L, LS-345 Peris breeds. The results have shown that the diet quality (14.5 per cent CP and 2800 Kcal compared to 12.5 per cent CP and 2950 Kcal) and body weight at mating (under and over 105 Kg) influenced in a little measure the changes of body weight and the backfat thickness of gilts during pregnancy. From the fertility, prolificacy number and weight of piglets at birth point of view, these were favourable influenced, but with no significant differences, by the weight of gilts at mating (over 105 Kg).
