Research on the embryos quality obtained from prepubertal gilts

The experiment was carried out on prepubertal gilts between 140-160 days old and with a body weight of 60-70 Kg. Starting from the physiological studies which have shown the role of PGF2 alfa in the ovulation process, it was conceived and checked a new treatment formula by jointing an analogue synthetic PGF2 alfa with PMSG and HCG (experimental group with 48 gilts) in comparison with a control group (32 gilts) which was treated only with PMSG and HCG. The results put in evidence a positive effect of the new treatment formula on the embryos quality which is reflected in a superior number of normal embryos obtained per gilt (X = 12.35) compared to 6.90 embryos obtained from the control gilts (X = 6.90).
