The terminal boar type and his effect over the growth and carcass performances of the hybrids at the actual (110 Kg) and heavier slaughter weight (145 Kg) represent an important challenge for the economic efficiency pork production. The experiment was carried out in the industrial condition at ROMSUINTEST Peris. The commercial hybrids were obtained by crossing Hampshire, Duroc and LS 345 Peris boars with crossbred female F1 (LW x L). The reproduction performances of crossbred female F1 mated with terminal boar of the mentioned breeds presented quite similar values for piglets born alive (9.25; 9.23 and respectively 9.19 piglets). The results concerning growth, conversion and carcass quality allow to conclude that in the slaughter condition at 110 Kg all the combinations assure similar performances. In the case of heavy pigs (145 Kg) with level maintenance growth and carcass it was outlined a tendency of better results for the combination with LS 345 Peris.
