Path coefficient analysis in faba bean (Vicia faba L.) [Sudan]

Twenty five accessions of faba bean (Vicia faba L.) were evaluated at Shambat (Sudan) for two consecutive seasons (1988/89-1989/90), using a triple partially balance lattice. Data were collected on seven plant characters, namely number of pods/plant, number of podded nodes/stem, number of pods/podded node, number of seeds/pod. 100-seed weight, number of branches/plant and grain yield/plant. The direct and indirect effects of the first six traits on grain yield/plant were determined using path coefficient analysis.
