Irrigation as limiting factor of strawberries yield

Under Slovak conditions it is possible to postpone strawberry seeding until late autumn when moisture conditions are more favourable. The influence of irrigation depended on the year. The first level of irrigation (variant 2, suction pressure of soil of 50 kPa) influenced the highest yields in 1991 and 1993. In 1992 and 1994 irrigation had the strongest effect at the second level (variant 3, suction pressure of soil of 30 kPa). The influences on yield decreased at the third level (variant 4, suction pressure of soil of 20 kPa). The greatest influence of irrigation was had with variant 3, in which yield was higher by 56.7 % in comparison with the non-irrigated rate
