Increasing interest in ruminant nutrition by means of non-traditional feed resources has been reported in recent years. This approach is often connected with control of metabolism through blood parameters. The objective of the present trial was to study the effect of diets with various ratios of rapeseed meal and meadow hay on mineral, energy, lipid and nitrogen profiles of blood serum in wethers. No negative effect of rapeseed meals on metabolic profiles of wethers was observed in four balance trials. There was a tendency to lower calcium content and higher lipid parameter levels in blood serum. The concentration of bilirubin, AST and ALT testified to normal liver function.
