[Reduction of the import component of feed for livestock; green bananas and sweet potato as a substitute for imported corn in the rations of chickens]

Thesis about research into the possibility of substitution of imported corn for sweet potatoes and green bananas in the diet of chickens. The chicken feed developed through this research was tested on chickens. Tested were: the feed consumption, the growth, the feed conversion, the carcass weight and the stomach fat increase of the chickens. A detailed description is given of the research purpose, the work method and the results. Finally the financial aspects of partly substituting corn for green banana flour in the diet of chickens are discussed. It was concluded that 30 of imported corn in the diet of consumption chickens can be substituted for green bananas without any significant change in the price of chicken. This can result in a reduction of the import of corn
