Cost and return of kluai khai production in Kamphaengphet [Thailand], year 1987/88

The main objectives of this study are to analyze the costs and returns of Kamphaengphet kluai khai and to recommend the policies for expansion of the production and marketing. The data used was collected from kluai khai farmers. Total costs of kluai khai production was 3,621.58 baht per rai. For total costs per unit of the small farm size and the first growing were 25.39 and 23.97 baht per unit, respectively and total costs per unit of the medium farm size and the second growing were 22.17 and 17.04 baht per unit, respectively which they were the lowest costs. The yield of the medium farm size and the first growing were 146 unit 76 bunch and 155 unit 62 bunch per rai, respectively which were the highest yields. Income per rai of the small farm size and the first growing show the highest income, were 4,022.70 and 4,293.48 baht, respectively. Return rate were 13.74 and 51.54 % per year, respectively.
