Comparative studies on qualitative and quantitative fruit characteristics between two processing guava (Psidium guajava cv. RPG 2/16 and Psidium guajava cv. Beaumont) were performed at Huay Luek Royal Station, Chiang Daw, Chiang Mai. RPG 2/16 gave higher processing standard than Beaumont. The quantitative characteristics between both cultivars are significantly different. RPG 2/16 processing guava cultivar gave an average fruit weight of only 110.76 grams, fresh thickness 13.94 mm, fruit cavity diameter 27.56 mm, total soluble solids 7.61 %, pH 4.35 and citric acid 0.34 %. Beaumont cultivar gave an average fruit weight 70.32 grams, fresh thickness 7.56 mm, fruit cavity diameter 37.16 mm, total soluble solids 6.05 %, pH 3.70 and citric acid 0.91 %. The qualitative characteristics of RPG 2/16 cultivar are significantly different from Beaumont. Tender flesh, few seed, high aroma, deep pink to red color flesh, sweet and higher pectin content are among the distinct characteristics of the former while Beaumont showed lighter colored flesh with higher fiber content, more seeds, high aroma, higher acidity but lower pectin. The using of K2SO4 at rate of 0, 60, 120 and 180 grams per tree gave no difference in the fruit weight, diameter of cavity, TSS or citric acid. However, the foliar application of K2S04 at 60 grams per tree gave higher fruit diameter 58.97 mm, flesh thickness of 14.60 mm and lowest pH of 4.26.
