Mahidol Smiling Goby is in the Gobidae Family. The scientific name is Mahidolia myetacina Cuvier and Valenciennes. The exploration and collection have been done at the nine station in the Chanthaburi estuary river during September 1990 to July 1991. The specimens were found at the station 4, 5, 6 by bamboo fishing trap during low tide. The male had blue color and oranges lines at the first dorsal fin that different from the female. The Goby's habitat is sandy, lean and clay. The species composition in the same environment are small crabs, snapping shrimp, bristle star and brackish goby. The average salinity is 23.45, 23.08 and 26.00 ppt. at the station 4, 5, 6. The size of fishes was about 2.3 to 7.4 cm in total length and 0.1 to 4.33 gm in weight. The copepods, fry of shrimps, mysid (Acetes sp.) were food in stomach content as the natural food. The growth is about 2.5 cm to 7.4 cm in total length in 32 days. Sex ratio of male and female is 1.4 in natural ground.
