1992
Somphop Rungsupha (Ko Si Chang Marine Scienc Research Station and Training Center, Chonburi (Thailand))
Marine chlorella, Nannochloropsis sp., was cultured at 24-25 deg C in 30 tons tank at a density of 51.0x10(exp.6) cell/ml. The algae was pumped to the column filter with the initial filting rate at 5 tons/hour. The pumping was stopped every 15 minutes to backwash the column filter. For 1 hour the 2,000 liters of algae was filtered to 50 liters at 2,630x10(exp.6) cell/ml. The concentration ratio was 51.56 times from the starter. The concentrated algae was preserved in 20 liters plastic bag at 4 deg C. After 7 and 14 days the concentrated algae was sampled to check the cell quality. There was no change in cell quality; the cell shaped and there was no protozoa or the other algae cell presented.
