[Untapped reserves for production of feeds and feed protein in Ukraine]

The article deals with the low productivity of animal farming as a whole and fall in its production in Ukraine. They are mentioned to stem first of all from significant energy consumption for feed production and from procurement of unsufficient quantities of feeds. In order to give rise in animal production in the feed production system the energy saving technologies should be prefered. Studies of the Institute of Irrigated Farming (Kherson, Ukraine) have shown that the technology that meet these requirements is pasture raising of animals. A technology for creating cultivated irrigated pastures on the forage lands of different types, including absolute and normal dry valleys, is developed
