The research was carried out at the parapodzol soil. The following types of seeding were involved: seed rate 20 kg/ha, interrow distance being 12.5 cm; seed rate 14 kg/ha, interrow distance being 12 cm; seed rate 14 kg/ha, interrow distance 25 cm; seed rate 7 kg/ha, interrow 25 cm. The largest production of a biomass was accomplished at the seed rate of 14 kg/ha and interrow distance 12.5 cm and it is significantly larger only compared to the treatment with seed rate of 7 kg/ha and interraw distance 25 cm. Seed yields in the second year of red clover were very low due to drought (162-192 kg/ha) and within the third year it was 316-368 kg/ha. No differences were noticed in the way of seeding for the total yield of seed between the treatment. It can be concluded that red clover should be seeded at the seed rate 14 kg/ha at interrow distance of 12.5 cm for combined production (hay-seed).
