1996
Mrdjen, M. | Stojanov, I. | Gagrcin, M. | Masic, Z. (Naucni institut za veterinarstvo "Novi Sad", Novi Sad (Yugoslavia))
The subject of the five-year research was the isolation and identification of bacterial microflora from the respiratory tract of pigs. The aim was to examine in Yugoslav conditions the incidence and complexity of respiratory disorders of bacterial etiology in pigs (by primary or secondary causes), possible therapy, and also a possible contribution to the knowledge of this problem. The results of the examination indicate the presence of a large number of different bacterias. The percent presence of isolated flora ranged from 0.59 Haemophillus parasuis ("suis") to 32.15 Pasteurella multocida. The isolated bacterias showed different sensitivity towards antibiotics, but Gentamycin and Flubactin could be recommended as the best for this problem.
