This paper gives the results of soil fertility control which covered the Metohia vineyard region (Yugoslavia). The investigation involved 4,740 ha of vineyards in State property. This results point out to existing of a large number of soil types with different fertility traits concerning physical, chemical and biological properties. On over 60 of vineyards soils were acid with relatively low content of acid humus. Available phosphorus content was not satisfying in over 70 of soils, but available potassium content was more favourable comparing with phosphorus, and it was within levels of middle-sized supplies. Soluble iron and magnesium contents were very favourable, but copper and zinc content varied within wide tolerance levels, and boron content was low in all the soils.
